O Lord, our heavenly King

Another hymn by Isaac Watts revised to more modern language whilst hopefully retaining the original essence of the hymn.

Set to a swing jazz style tune.

Our music group are currently revising this so that it can be used as a pre-worship song. I will add that recording once it is ready.

In the meantime here it is as generated on Suno.com (paid subscriber).

Revised words

1. O Lord, our heavenly King,
Your name is all divine,
Your glory round the earth is spread,
Over the world it shines.

2. Lord, what is humankind,
That you should love us so?
Next to the angels we are placed,
Given care of earth below.

3. How rich your gifts to us,
How wonderous are your ways,
Your Spirit come and raise in us,
A monument of praise!

Although I hesitate to do this other "professional" songwriters do this so - This version of the Words © Chris Hancock
Music owned by Chris Hancock and possibly copyright is mine as well but copyright is a complicated area and A.I. generated music just adds to that complication!

Original words

1 O Lord, our heavenly King,
Thy name is all divine;
Thy glories round the earth are spread,
And o'er the heavens they shine.

2 Lord, what is worthless man,
That thou shouldst love him so?
Next to thine angels he is placed,
And lord of all below.

3 Now rich thy bounties are,
And wondrous are thy ways!
In us O let thy power frame
A monument of praise!
